Two similar Dodge Journey build sheets use different codes for what appears to be the same feature. Mine uses 2AR, described as “Customer Preferred Package - Ar. This code identifies a factory option package or special-edition equipment group” Can anyone explain how these variations are normally handled?

The wording may be abbreviated because these were originally production codes rather than consumer descriptions. “Customer Preferred Package - Ar. This code identifies a factory option package or special-edition equipment group” is a reasonable plain-English reading, but the exact implementation should be verified for the 2024 model.

If you are documenting the vehicle, save both the original wording and the readable explanation. That preserves the factory terminology while making the record understandable later.
