My 1996 Ram ProMaster has 5D2: “Go Fast Stripe (red). This code identifies a factory paint color, stripe, badge, or exterior appearance treatment” I am curious how this option has held up for other owners and whether it has caused any reliability, service, or parts-availability issues.

Some codes are reused across several brands, but that does not always mean the parts are identical. Model, trim, drivetrain, and production date can all matter.

I have seen this on a similar Ram ProMaster. The basic description was correct, but one related feature was part of a separate package. I would not assume the code includes every item mentioned in marketing material.

If the feature is listed but not working, scan all related modules before assuming it was removed. A stored fault, replacement module, or configuration mismatch can make original equipment appear absent.
