What is a window sticker?

A window sticker — officially the "Monroney label" — is the printed sheet the factory attaches to the window of every new vehicle. Code 232 is present on my 2016 Jeep Compass, with the description “Customer Preferred Package 232. This code identifies a factory option package or special-edition equipment group” The visible equipment does not match what I expected. Has anyone run into a similar mismatch?

For a retrofit, check the modules, wiring connectors, software configuration, and compatible part numbers first. Installing the visible component alone may not make the feature operational.
