On these vehicles, similar descriptions can use different codes because of supplier changes or package combinations. The code itself is useful, but the VIN-specific parts catalog is better before ordering anything.

I have seen this on a similar Jeep Cherokee. The basic description was correct, but one related feature was part of a separate package. I would not assume the code includes every item mentioned in marketing material.

Before buying, I would inspect the relevant component and take a photo of its label or part number. That often resolves whether the vehicle still has the factory configuration associated with 2U7.

Check the production month as well as the model year. Mid-year changes are one reason two vehicles with the same badge can have different hardware or descriptions.

Some codes are reused across several brands, but that does not always mean the parts are identical. Model, trim, drivetrain, and production date can all matter.
