What is a window sticker?

A window sticker — officially the "Monroney label" — is the printed sheet the factory attaches to the window of every new vehicle. It has been federally required on new cars in the United States since the Monroney Act of 1958, and decades later it remains the single most authoritative summary of how a particular vehicle left the assembly line.

My 2012 Chrysler Pacifica did not appear to leave the factory with the setup identified by 5PE: “Delete Wheel. This code identifies the factory wheel size, design, material, or finish” I am considering adding it. Does the retrofit normally involve control-module programming, a different harness, or additional hardware?

Some codes are reused across several brands, but that does not always mean the parts are identical. Model, trim, drivetrain, and production date can all matter.

If you are documenting the vehicle, save both the original wording and the readable explanation. That preserves the factory terminology while making the record understandable later.

Check the production month as well as the model year. Mid-year changes are one reason two vehicles with the same badge can have different hardware or descriptions.

A clear photo of the build label, VIN report, and the relevant component would help. Do not post the full VIN publicly; the last eight characters are normally enough for a parts-counter discussion.

If the feature is listed but not working, scan all related modules before assuming it was removed. A stored fault, replacement module, or configuration mismatch can make original equipment appear absent.
