That code should be read as a factory configuration identifier, not necessarily a guarantee of a separate dashboard control. Some equipment operates automatically or is bundled with another system.

Check the production month as well as the model year. Mid-year changes are one reason two vehicles with the same badge can have different hardware or descriptions.

The dealer should be able to pull a VIN-specific equipment or parts record. Ask them to search by VIN rather than entering only the three-character code.

Before buying, I would inspect the relevant component and take a photo of its label or part number. That often resolves whether the vehicle still has the factory configuration associated with 2ZK.

A clear photo of the build label, VIN report, and the relevant component would help. Do not post the full VIN publicly; the last eight characters are normally enough for a parts-counter discussion.

The wording may be abbreviated because these were originally production codes rather than consumer descriptions. “Customer Preferred Package 2Zk. This code identifies a factory option package or special-edition equipment group” is a reasonable plain-English reading, but the exact implementation should be verified for the 2023 model.

I have seen this on a similar Ram 2500. The basic description was correct, but one related feature was part of a separate package. I would not assume the code includes every item mentioned in marketing material.
