A window sticker — officially the "Monroney label" — is the printed sheet the factory attaches to the window of every new vehicle. I am organizing the original options on a recently purchased 2018 Chevrolet Colorado. Code 56U appears in the list with the description “Primary exterior color: Sunburst Orange II Metallic. This code identifies the vehicle's factory-applied main exterior paint color” Is that wording complete, or is there usually more equipment associated with the code?

The wording may be abbreviated because these were originally production codes rather than consumer descriptions. “Primary exterior color: Sunburst Orange II Metallic. This code identifies the vehicle's factory-applied main exterior paint color” is a reasonable plain-English reading, but the exact implementation should be verified for the 2018 model.

Check the production month as well as the model year. Mid-year changes are one reason two vehicles with the same badge can have different hardware or descriptions.
